Recently, DuPont Packaging Graphics (http://www.packaging-graphics.dupont.com) and Marmara University of Istanbul (http://www.marmara.edu.tr/index_en.php) announced a major new partnership, a new form of academic enterprise building on the complementary strengths.
On September 19, 2006, DuPont Packaging Graphics inaugurated the new DuPont Technology Center, a state-of-the-art laboratory donated to the Printing Education Department of the Technical Education Faculty of the Marmara University of Istanbul.
In addition, DuPont presented a number of innovative and fully comprehensive programs to promote and support education in the fields of Flexography Packaging Printing in Turkey. The DuPont scheme ranges from the set-up and continuous support of the Flexo laboratory (i.e. the DuPont Technology Center) to the sustainable Incentive and Reward Education program for students and professors.
The opening of the DuPont Technology Center was celebrated together with a very attractive and professional conference. The technical conference included speeches and presentations about the development and focuses of Flexography especially on the growth potential in the packaging and printing industry in Turkey.
The buildings of the Marmara University and the newly renovated laboratory offered excellent surroundings for all the attendees who could see and touch every aspect of the "DuPont ideal workflow" for flexo packaging printing.
The DuPont Technology Center at Marmara University
The full renovation of the technology centre and the installation of a complete high-tech flexo plate production line is an important project, on which DuPont has decided to invest time and money to support the University effort aimed at developing unique flexo courses.
The product specialists from DuPont were on hand to explain and even give live demonstrations of many DuPont and Esko products.

- DuPont™ Cromalin® Largo and DuPont™ Cromanet™ to master color from design to press with proofing systems that address the combined needs of print production and the creative community.
The DuPont Packaging Graphics Education Incentive and Reward package.
The Education Incentive and Reward package is designed by DuPont Packaging Graphics to support professors for improving academic achievement and reward students who have put exceptional effort and commitment into their studies and have shown themselves to be truly outstanding in their flexo courses.
DuPont Packaging Graphics developed this support package in cooperation with the Rector’s office of the Marmara University in Istanbul.
Endowed by DuPont Packaging Graphics, the program provides the Printing Education Department of the Technical Education Faculty with state-of-the-art laboratories, Cyrel® photopolymer flexo plates, innovative processing equipment and ad-hoc courses for professors and students.
DuPont is assisting the Faculty in developing standards and best practices for the flexo printing course. Through the DuPont program, 2 awarded students can attend top educational courses at the laboratories of the European Head Quarters of DuPont in Germany, at no cost to them or their University. The use of the DuPont assets and the practical experiments in the Technical Marketing and R&D Labs will provide professors and students with the unique opportunity for scientific problem solving, while developing distinctive personal skills.
The First Technical Book for Turkish Flexographers
The Marmara University produced and presented the first ever Flexo Book in Turkish. DuPont specialists assisted Professor Dr. Efe Gencoglu and his team in developing standards and best practices for the flexo printing course, who prepared the many stages of the education program.
The main topics covered by the book are: Introduction to Flexography, The Printing Processes (Letterpress, Flexography, Offset, Gravure and Silk Screen Printing), Prepress for Flexo Printing System, etc.
