DuPont has announced the installation of two ESKO - Cyrel® Digital Imager, CDI Spark 4835 lines at Poligrafoformlenie – Flexo, St.-Petersburg, Russia. Polygrafoformlenie-Flexo produces a wide range of flexible packing materials, including specialised private label brand products, as well as plates for offset, flexo, varnishing and label printing. The installations are part of the company’s expansion and development plans in its drive towards total digital pre-press technology.

"We purchased the two ESKO - Cyrel® Digital Imager, CDI Spark lines together and there is a good reason for this," comments Alexander Bureev, Pre-Press Manager of Poligrafoformlenie – Flexo. "After moving to a new factory site, we extended our stable of printing machines making it necessary to improve the efficiency of our pre-press department. The DuPont installation was planned over a year ago in accordance with our overall development plan that provides for duplication of all production technology. Corresponding to this, we purchased a complete set of DuPont lines for plate manufacturing, including a washout processor, drying, post-exposure and finishing units as well as washout solution distillation equipment. The Purchase of CDI was a logical conclusion of this process".
The CDI Spark 4835 permits the manufacture of flexographic photopolymer plates up to 1200 mm (35.4") lengths х 900 mm (47.2") widths and is optimised for plate makers, flexible packaging, label and folding carton printers. Features include reliable high-speed fibre laser with multi-beam optics and integrated plate loading table.
"The most important requirements for us are equipment reliability and high quality operation and service", said Bureev. "DuPont is good for us in terms of all these parameters. We have been cooperating with DuPont for ten years, both on equipment and materials. Next year we are planning to transition to total digital technology and dispense with traditional analog plates altogether".
