Naksan and DuPont organized a Joint Open Day in Gaziantep at Naksan’s premises to introduce the new Naksan’s commercial offerings and provide a glimpse of DuPont’s technology direction for the near future.
At the Open Day, Naksan and leading science company DuPont showcased the new Cyrel® round solution, which positions flexography as the process of choice for high impact packaging graphics and as a flexible packaging printing process that can help to extend the boundaries of brand owners’ capabilities.
Taner Nakıpoğlu, Naksan’s Vice President commented, “Until today, in Turkey, almost all printing sleeves that are mounted on press were created from flat plates, mounted on raw blank sleeves after processing. In other words the printing sleeves were not supplied by vendors as sleeves, but were formed in the plant from flat plates. Our investment, which includes amongst other pieces of equipment a Cyrel® round processor, a digital imager and the software to make seamless sleeves, was certainly daunting. However, we truly felt that Turkey’s packaging printing industry should have been advanced to the most innovative European level.”

Cyrel® round the most innovative packaging printing solution from DuPont
A long-time flexo industry choice,, DuPont aims at meeting the needs of today’s evolving packaging printing sector with its science and technology- driven solutions. Today, Cyrel® round is the only complete digital sleeve production solution, consisting of a family of ‘ready-to-image’ Cyrel® printing sleeves, supported by complementary DuPont equipment for UV Exposure, processing, drying and finishing.
The Cyrel® round system uses DuPont’s in-the-round technology and includes key innovation that give flexo printing forms excellent performance for quality packaging printing applications requiring continuous design repeats or complex nested mounting. Productivity gains in pre-press come mainly from predictability and repeatability. Greater accuracy results from imaging seamless sleeves with no gaps or bleeds between separate images on the sleeves. Distortions associated with imaging are therefore eliminated and significant time saving is attained by eliminating plate mounting, as well as by avoiding rework caused by the deformation inherent in the plate mounting process. Sleeves can be stored for reuse on subsequent print runs, with no plate demounting and remounting required.
In the press-room, reduced makeready times attainable with Cyrel® round sleeves allow for shorter package production runs and more frequent design changes. Reliability and durability also characterize the new Cyrel® round sleeves, which offer smoother operation and faster press running speeds without compromising quality.
The modern servo-driven Naksan’s flexo printing presses equipped with new sleeves job-change technology, gearless and controlled printing pressures are ideal to print with Cyrel® round on almost any type of substrates including critical materials with varying thickness.
