Significant industry contributions will be honored at drupa 2008
At drupa 2008, DuPont Packaging Graphics will present the 2nd New Horizons Awards.
Initiated in 2007 on the occasion of the International Grand Prix Cyrel® held in Valencia, Spain, the New Horizons Awards acknowledge key individuals, organizations and programs for their valuable contributions to the flexographic and package printing industries.
The honorees are selected "for superior achievement", not for "best of the year". All awards recognize the work, creativity, and contributions of individuals and organizations for their efforts in “Advancing Flexography”.
The New Horizons Awards are non-juried awards. Two rounds of voting by a number of international DuPont Packaging Graphics delegates determined first the finalists, and then the honorees.
"Due to the nature of an award for "superior achievement", it was difficult to ask individuals to self-nominate. Therefore, DuPont employees and distributors were requested to nominate deserving individuals, organizations or programs," said John McCooey, global marketing manager DuPont Packaging Graphics.
The winners will be announced and the awards will be presented at the DuPont Customer Events held at the Theater der Träume on June 2, 3, 6 and 7, in Düsseldorf in conjunction with drupa 2008.
The award itself is a heavy brass trophy, designed specifically for DuPont Packaging Graphics, replicating the New Horizons logo with the Cyrel® medal on its top left corner. Engraved with the honoree’s name or organization, the trophy is a handsome recognition of significant achievement.
