Dr. Barry Morris, Senior Scientist
Dr. Morris is a widely published expert on film extrusion and polymer melt behavior. He is a long time member of TAPPI, a Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and a member of the Board of Directors of the SPE Flexible Packaging and Extrusion Divisions.
He received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He also has an MBA from the University of Delaware.
He has over 70 publications in the area of packaging resins and polymer processing and 4 U. S. patents. His research interests include ionomers, polymer blends, compounding, rheology, extrusion, co-extrusion and film and coating converting processes. He is an expert on heat sealing and adhesion and has developed a number of adhesive polymers for the co-extrusion film and extrusion coating industries.
In 2005 he was awarded the Rohm and Haas Prize by the TAPPI PLACE Division in recognition of outstanding contributions which have advanced the technology of the flexible packaging industry.
