Terry Kendig, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers Senior Scientist

Terry Kendig, DuPont Senior Scientst 
Terry Kendig is DuPont's resident expert on lidding films, holding 4 U.S. patents for innovative film and adhesion combinations, with 4 more pending. His expertise is frequently sought by developers of new convenience packaging, and he has contributed to award-winning designs for brand leaders.  He is active in industry groups including Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI), Worldwide Food Expo (WWFE), TAPPI, American Correctional Association (ACA), Food Marketing Institute (FMI), American Correctional Food Service Association (ACFSA).  He attended Wilmington University.

Terry has spent 20 years  in packaging with experience in Appeel® lidding sealant resins and with Mylar® lidding film technology.

His development interests include polyester based sealant and shrink films, compounding, polymer formulating, coextrusion, lamination and other film conversion processes as well as end use equipment processes. He has expertise in lidding sealants and applications, formulation of resins targeting sealant/substrate optimization, and heat sealing processes. He has developed dual ovenable thermoformable packages, dual ovenable heat shrinkable and non heat shrinkable sealant films.

In his current role Terry’s responsibility includes being Product Champion for Appeel® and for leading DuPont’s efforts overall in the peelable lidding industry.
