Orion's Dr. You snack sealed packaging 
Korean consumer interest in food quality, package integrity and a reduced environmental footprint have inspired Orion to develop an alternative to previous all-plastic pouches for its popular Dr. You rice chips. The move also involved shifts from gravure to solvent-free flexographic package printing technology to reduce printing-related emissions, and the development of a recycling program for its product distribution boxes. These changes are being promoted by Orion through use of a new “Green Package” logo on its new snack packs. The shift to paper instead of OPP film for the snack chip outer (print) layer reduces total packaging plastics use by 40%. The new package is available nationwide in outlets from hyperstores to corner markets.
