DuPont™ Fusabond® resins
Functionalized for toughening and compatibilizing other resins
DuPont™ Fusabond® resins are modified polymers that have been functionalized (typically by maleic anhydride grafting) to help bond together dissimilar polymers used in toughened, filled and blended compounds. The product line includes modified ethylene acrylate carbon monoxide terpolymers, ethylene vinyl acetates (EVAs), polyethylenes, metallocene polyethylenes, ethylene propylene rubbers and polypropylenes.
While most of the applications for Fusabond® are in industrial goods, such as highly filled compounds for molding and extrusion, there are grades that can help with nylon toughening, or serve as a tie layer, or help compatibilize polyethylene-based recycle streams, creating added performance potential and value for post-consumer package recyling programs.
