"Putting Consumers First" Award

DuPont Pakistan recognized for protecting consumer rights

DuPont Pakistan recently won the Corporate Social Responsibility award “Putting the Consumers First Award” by Helpline Trust in Karachi, Pakistan. DuPont was recognized for making a positive contribution through sustainable products and services to local civil society. The award acknowledged corporate entities that are demonstrating a commendable commitment to its consumers, as well as the community within which it operates.

Helpline Trust is working towards building awareness on consumer protection and promoting good manufacturing practice, corporate social responsibility and ensuring that customers in Pakistan are provided quality products at an affordable price.

DuPont was one of the twenty five nominees to receive this award. Receiving the award, Tauqir Ahmed, country manager and growth leader, DuPont Pakistan stated, “We are delighted to receive this award for the third time. DuPont recognizes the responsibility towards its customers and its local community. We are very attentive of our customer needs and our core values which form the cornerstone of all our business operations. We believe in creating sustainable solutions essential to a better, safer, healthier life for people everywhere.”

The award ceremony also commemorated World Consumer Rights Day conference stressing on protecting consumer’s interest against substandard, counterfeit and adulterated products while establishing and enforcing protection laws and consumer rights.
Helpline Trust has been advocating good governance since 1994. The objective of the award was to make companies prioritize consumers and look after their interests especially in the absence of consumer protection law and the lack of existing food and drug laws in Pakistan.
