Did you know that finger and hand injuries rank among the highest in workplace accidents? That hand and finger injuries are considered the most preventable workplace injury? These interesting statistics certainly reveal how important it is to invest in the best protection available for your employees. That's why we've created the DuPont Torture Chamber, a rotating Plexiglas drum with razor blades located on the inside which is used to demonstrate the relative cut resistance of various gloves.

The Demonstration
In Torture Chamber demonstrations, gloves of cotton, leather and KEVLAR® are filled with plastic pellets. The gloves are then placed inside the drum and tumbled. The demonstration reveals that leather gloves cut in less than 30 seconds and cotton gloves in less than a minute, while the glove of KEVLAR® remains in good condition. In 20 successive demonstrations with the same glove of KEVLAR®, 20 cotton and 20 leather gloves were destroyed.

And, not only do gloves of KEVLAR® provide superior protection, they are cost-effective, as well. Twenty cotton gloves at 64 cents a pair will cost $6.40 (US dollars). Twenty leather gloves, at $4.50 a pair will cost $45 (US). One pair of gloves of KEVLAR® costs $4.00 (US). That's a small price to pay for superior finger and hand protection for your employees.
