Here's a selection of permeation data for Tyvek®, Tychem® C, Tychem® F and Tychem® TK generated for DuPont by independent accredited testing laboratories.
Breakthrough times were measured according to EN 369 that reports the time taken for a chemical to reach a permeation rate of 1 µg/cm².min. Unless otherwise stated, the tests were performed with pure chemicals at standard temperature (25°C+/-2°C) and pressure.
The results are reported according to normative requirements and are available from DuPont on request.
Important note: Breakthrough time alone is not sufficient to determine how long a garment may be worn once the garment has been contaminated. Safe user wear time may be longer or shorter than the breakthrough time depending on the permeation behaviour of the substance, the toxicity of the substance and the exposure conditions.
