PRODUCT ALERT - Tychem® ThermoPro

DuPont recently received the 2008 test results for re-certification to NFPA 1992 Standard on Liquid Splash Protective Ensembles and Clothing for Hazardous Materials Emergencies . We were informed that Tychem® ThermoPro garments did not pass the Liquidtight Integrity Test, one of the many elements of the NFPA 1992 Standard certification. While the garments did pass all other tests required to meet the Standard, Tychem® ThermoPro garments are no longer certified to the NFPA 1992 Standard and should not be used in applications where users have deemed the certification necessary for use.  

Usage Guidelines for DuPont™ Tychem® ThermoPro garments TP188 and TP189

Tychem® ThermoPro garments remain certified to NFPA 2112 Standard on Flame Resistant Garments for Protection of Industrial Personnel Against Flash Fire and can be worn when the potential for flash fire exists.

Tychem® ThermoPro garments can be used in applications where serged and bound seam products are appropriate. Tychem® ThermoPro garments can be used in applications similar to those in which DuPont™  Tychem® QC, Tychem® CPF1, Tychem® CPF2 and Tychem® SL bound and serged seam products are worn.

Tychem® ThermoPro garments can also be used for training purposes.    

Returns of DuPont™ Tychem® ThermoPro garments TP188 and TP189

DuPont will accept returns on Tychem® ThermoPro garments that are undamaged and uncontaminated based on our standard return policy. We recommend that end users work through their distributor so that they can properly credit your account. Contaminated and damaged garments should be disposed of in accordance with instructions on garment disposal.

Recertification of DuPont™ Tychem® ThermoPro garments TP188 and TP189

DuPont is working diligently to identify the areas of concern and re-engineer the garment. We will re-submit Tychem® ThermoPro  for re-certification to NFPA 1992 Standard when this work is complete.
