Previously we announced a valve replacement program for users of DuPont™ Tychem® Level A garments.
As an addendum to the DuPont™ Tychem® Level A garment inspection policy, DuPont recommended that all Tychem® Level A suits purchased from May 2002 through June 2007 be inspected to determine if the diaphragms are two years of age or older.
If the diaphragm is two years of age or older, it should be replaced. While valve diaphragm replacement is not a requirement, DuPont supports the recommendation of the valve manufacturers, Auer and Pirelli, who recommend replacement of the valve diaphragm every two years as part of routine maintenance, regardless of the brand of Level A suit.
