DuPont recently presented its broad and growing portfolio of integrated materials and technologies for the photovoltaic (PV) industry at the 15th International Photovoltaic Science and Engineering Conference (PVSEC), in Shanghai, China.
Targeted to leading researchers, scientists, engineers, architects, designers and other solar renewable energy professionals from around the world, the exhibition provided an ideal opportunity to share information on the expanding DuPont portfolio of materials for PV. The latest lead-free addition to the DuPont™ Solamet® family of thick film metallization pastes was prominently featured at the show. Also announced were plans to increase production of DuPont™ Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film, in order to meet the strong current and forecast demand in the PV market.
"DuPont has a strong history in PV, and an exciting future," said Thomas Earnest, global venture manager - DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions. "We’re leveraging the success of each of our businesses which have offerings in the PV industry, by combining our technical expertise, for example, introducing new lead-free materials for more sustainable solar cell manufacturing, and supporting the market as it continues to grow by adding new capacity for DuPont materials going into PV. Our commitment is clear, as is our goal to apply scientific and technological expertise to deliver more timely, cost-effective and innovative solutions to our customers. By improving the lifecycle of photovoltaic modules, and reducing the cost per watt of photovoltaic power, we will ultimately improve the quality of life for people around the world."
