Mylar®, Melinex® and Teijin®Tetoron® PET films are designed to provide excellent hydrolysis, dielectric, reflectance, UV protection and durability properties in backsheet laminations.

These PET films are custom manufactured in Europe, US, Japan and China for laminators who supply module makers producing c-Si to emerging flexible thin film modules using roll to roll technology.

The traditional backsheet design for c-Si PV modules is a laminate of Mylar® PET polyester film between two layers of DuPont™ Tedlar® PVF film, commonly referred to as a TPT™ laminate.

New, 100% polyester film laminate designs use 2 to 3 layers of Melinex® polyester film.
