Photovoltaic Solutions

Flexible solar cells are made using amorphous silicon with low-temperature processing. In this case, the metallization does not contribute directly to the cell function and the key attribute is high conductivity.

For metallization of flexible amorphous silicon cells, DuPont recommends:

  • Solamet® solar cell conductor PV427. This paste is a low-resistivity polymeric thick-film conductor that can be cured at 120-130 C in order to form a conductive contact.
  • Other low temperature materials are available from DuPont that have been designed to meet particular processing requirements of the PV industry.
