DuPont™ Solamet® Low Silver Tabbing Metallization Pastes - Rear Side Contact

Lower Silver DuPont™ Solamet® PV51x
Designed to Drive Costs Down for Solar Cell Manufacturers

DuPont™ Solamet® PV51x photovoltaic metallization paste is a new tabbing conductor used in solar cell manufacturing.  This breakthrough new formulation enables cell makers to use up to 15 percent less material consumption while delivering comparable electrical performance versus the leading incumbent. This helps reduce dependence on silver metals and offset some of the impact that rising silver prices have on the cost of producing solar cells and modules.

DuPont™ Solamet® PV51x features include:

  • Excellent printability window
  • Co-firable with current Solamet® frontside silver pastes
  • Superior adhesion window
  • Reduced laydown
  • Reduced tab footprint
  • Lead and Cadmium free*

*Lead and Cadmium ‘free’ as used herein means that Lead or Cadmium are not intentionally added to the referenced product. Trace amounts however may be present.

DuPont expects that ongoing research efforts will enable the development of subsequent generations of Solamet® products with the silver content reduced by as much as 20 percent compared to today’s existing products.

Other Tabbing Silver Pastes Include:

  •  Solamet® PV505 & PV506 - A highly conductive silver composition, developed to provide excellent adhesion when used in conjunction with rear side aluminum compositions
