Renewably Sourced Thermoplastics, Cost-Saving Ideas for Underhood Automotive Components Highlight DuPont Automotive Talks at SPE Automotive Conference
Three technical experts from DuPont Automotive will share their knowledge and insights at the April 24 Automotive Engineering Plastics Conference (EPCON) in Sterling Heights, Mich. The annual event is hosted by the Detroit section and Automotive Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers.
The panelists, Dr. Joseph Kurian, DuPont Automotive technology and business development manager will speak to attendees about a new family of high-performance engineering thermoplastics made with renewable resources for a range of automotive applications, including airbag doors, CVJ boots and electrical/electronic connectors and housings. Patrick Granowicz, DuPont Automotive engine covers segment manager, will present material solutions for sealed engine covers and oil pans that can reduce overall costs 20 percent. Volker Plehn, DuPont Automotive sales and development director transportation, will share cost-effective solutions for high-performance components using DuPont™ Vespel® Parts and Shapes.
