DuPont Automotive Named Yazaki Green Supplier of the Year
DuPont Automotive was among four suppliers honored by Yazaki North America as a 2010 Green Supplier of the Year.
The ‘Green Suppliers of the Year’ program recognizes suppliers who have made significant contributions to the preservation of the environment through their manufacturing, production and delivery processes and have exceeded others in their effort to reduce their impact on the environment. Yazaki established this program in 2009 as the benchmark for all Yazaki companies and affiliates throughout the Americas region.
DuPont – one of the first companies to publicly establish environmental goals 20 years ago – has broadened its sustainability commitments beyond internal footprint reduction to include market-driven targets for both revenue and research and development investment. The goals are tied directly to business growth, specifically to the development of safer and environmentally improved new products for key global markets.
“At DuPont, we have long been committed to create new products and services that will help meet our customers’ needs and expectations for more sustainable offerings,” said Dawn Rittenhouse, director, sustainable development for DuPont, who accepted the award with the account team last week. “To receive this award from Yazaki is a great honor and helps ensure that we are on the correct path to a more sustainable future.”
“At Yazaki, we continue to drive for a greener planet by expanding our environmental scope to our supply base”, said Ken Pichla, senior manager of Commodity Purchasing. “We are proud to honor DuPont Automotive for its contributions to protecting the environment.”
