Prevent Scale Deposits on Pool Surfaces

Scale deposits on pool surfaces are caused by unbalanced water and are generally associated with high calcium hardness. Follow these steps to help prevent scale deposits.

  1. Test your pool water for pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness.

  2. Adjust total alkalinity as needed.

  3. Adjust pH and calcium hardness as needed.

Scale deposits on pool surfaces are difficult to remove. Regular use of a metal remover or a stain and scale control product, combined with brushing pool surfaces, will help reduce scale deposits.
