Neu-Isenburg, September 2009. Laminated glass produced using high-strength DuPont™ SentryGlas® interlayers has been granted building regulations approval by the Deutsche Institut für Bautechnik (The German Institute for Constructional Engineering) in Berlin, Germany. With immediate effect, laminated glass produced with SentryGlas® interlayers, which are five times stronger and around 100 times stiffer than standard PVB interlayers, may be used in Germany without the need for timely and costly ‘special approval’ by the building authorities, thereby extending its potential scope for application. This includes its use as safety glazing in flooring, balustrades and vast, overhead installations.
