DuPont Launches New Year, New Products at Beltwide Cotton Conference

This January, DuPont Crop Protection kicked off the New Year by announcing two new products to their already-comprehensive cotton portfolio. DuPont™ Staple® LX herbicide and DuPont™ FirstPick™ harvest aid/defoliant have been added to the DuPont product list, providing growers with even more options for increased yields in 2006.

With the introduction of Roundup Ready Flex in 2006, growers’ herbicide programs will be changing to combat glyphosate-resistance issues. This year, DuPont is offering these growers a new 3.2-pound liquid formulation of Staple®. Staple® LX is the most versatile over-the-top tank-mix partner for Flex cotton early in the season*. It can be applied over the top with Roundup, whenever growers need it, for maximum morningglory control with residual annual grass suppression.

Also new in 2006, FirstPick™ is formulated for quick, consistent boll opening in an easy-to-use formulation. It is easy to mix, easy to apply and easy to clean. It also has notable improvements in speed and consistency for boll opening. In those trials where it was put up against straight ethephon, FirstPick™ had noticeably better results.
