New DuPont™ Cimarron® Plus and Cimarron® X-tra Herbicides Receive Federal Registration

WILMINGTON, Del., April 21, 2006 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has granted federal registration for DuPont™ Cimarron® Plus and Cimarron® X-tra herbicides for pasture and rangeland. Both products provide ranchers with new weed control tools for better forage production – without the grazing restrictions and restricted use issues associated with some other herbicides.

Cimarron® Plus provides extended residual control of a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds and brush in a single treatment. According to Lisa Malabad, DuPont product manager, Cimarron® Plus provides longer lasting control and suppression of key broadleaf weeds and woody species, which adds up to fewer treatments over time.
Cimarron® X-tra provides ranchers with targeted control of key problem weeds, especially invasive and poisonous species, including many types of thistle. It is non-volatile, which is especially useful for ranchers and applicators treating land that borders sensitive adjacent crops, such as cotton.
