Latest University Research Shows DuPont™ Acelepryn® Provides Unprecedented Caterpillar and Grub Control
Golf Superintendents Can Save Time and Money by Reducing their Turf Applications for Surface Feeders
WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 21, 2009 – DuPont Professional Products revealed two years of university data that shows just one application of DuPont™ Acelepryn® liquid turf insecticide at the lowest grub control label rate has the added benefit of providing residual control of caterpillars. When applied using the grub control rate at 8 fl. oz. per acre, Acelepryn® insecticide provides an average of 97.6 percent control of fall armyworm and black cutworm when evaluated 12-18 weeks after treatment, according to the research. The extended residual effect of Acelepryn® from a grub control application means that golf superintendents can save time and money by reducing their turf applications needed to control surface feeders.
“One application of Acelepryn® lasted all summer long and took away my worry of treating the greens every month for cutworm,” said Jim Evans, superintendent at The Dormie Club in Pinehurst, N.C. “One application in the spring is a no-brainer; it saves a bundle in time, which is key when you have a small crew of five guys trying to build and maintain a course. Acelepryn® is designed to control white grubs and other turf-damaging pests on a wide range of sites such as residential and commercial lawns, public turf sites including golf courses, athletic fields, parks and playgrounds as well as landscape ornamentals — including trees, shrubs, flower, foliage plants and groundcovers.
