DuPont Professional Products Receives Termiticide Registration in Japan
New Aperion™ termiticide/insecticide offers superior control.
WILMINGTON, WILMINGTON, Del., May 11, 2006 - DuPont Professional Products announces the registration of Aperion™ termiticide/insecticide in Japan. With this first termiticide registration, DuPont continues to redefine the industry with new product offerings and prove its dedication to the pest management industry with solutions that span the globe.
Beginning with the 2004 launch of DuPont™ Advion® fire ant bait in the United States and more recently with the introduction of DuPont™ Advion® cockroach gel bait, Aperion™ is the latest result of ongoing research with the active ingredient, indoxacarb.
Indoxacarb’s novel mode of action was developed by DuPont researchers to target the insect’s nervous system. After ingesting indoxacarb, the insects own internal enzymes change the molecular structure and attributes of indoxacarb into the more potent MetaActive™ compound, resulting in paralysis, followed by death.
DuPont Professional Products is launching Aperion™ in Japan in partnership with four major pest control companies. Aperion™ was introduced in Japan during a launch tour in March by Mike McDermott, global business leader, Dr.Clay Scherer, global development, and Atsushi Suzuki, Japan country manager, DuPont Professional Products. The tour promoted recent research that demonstrated Aperion™ will effectively transfer within termite colonies to exhibit total colony death.
