DuPont™ Acelepryn™ Receives Expedited California Registration
Turf Professionals Can Gain Control of Black Turfgrass Ataenius, Black Cutworm and All White Grub Species with One Early Application
WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 26, 2008 – DuPont Professional Products today announced that DuPont™ Acelepryn™ insecticide is registered for use in California after an accelerated review and approval process. The California Department of Pesticide Registrations (CDPR) initiated its review of Acelepryn™ prior to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) registration of the product. The CDPR review and approval was aided by this new product’s favorable toxicological profile. Proven to control all key turf-damaging white grub species and other key pests such as the black turfgrass ataenius and the black cutworm, Acelepryn™ has already been quickly adopted in the Midwest and Northeast.
With just one early application of Acelepryn™, turf managers and landscape professionals can control grubs and surface-feeding insects such as cutworms, webworms, weevils and billbugs. Professionals can eliminate at least one treatment to control surface feeders and save time and money later in the season.

Acelepryn™ is designed to control white grubs and other turf-damaging pests on a wide range of sites, including golf courses and commercial and residential turf sites. Acelepryn™ is approved for use to control key pests infesting landscape and recreational turf, as well as landscape ornamentals including trees, shrubs, foliage plants, flowers and non-bearing fruit and nut trees.
The launch of Acelepryn™ is another major achievement of DuPont’s ongoing commitment to develop products that are highly efficacious and gentle on the environment. Acelepryn™ was granted reduced-risk status by the EPA in April 2007 for applications to turfgrass. It has been tested in independent studies and proven to have minimal impact on beneficial arthropods, birds, fish, bees and mammals.
