DuPont Qualicon to Host Food Quality Award Presentation and Reception

DuPont Qualicon will host the 7th annual Food Quality Award presentation and reception on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Keynote Theater in the Washington, D.C. Convention Center.  Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

During this event, which is free to all registered attendees of the Food Safety & Security Summit, West Liberty Foods will be honored as the winner of the 2007 Food Quality Award.  Sponsored by DuPont Qualicon and presented by Food Quality Magazine, this award is given each year to a North American QA/QC department or program that has made significant improvements in food safety and quality, with a positive impact on business results.

The keynote address will be given by Frank Yiannas, director of safety and health, Walt Disney World.  Yiannas will share his unique and innovative perspective on the future of food safety.  Specifically, he will discuss his thoughts about whether improvements will hinge on technological advancements or on having more “touch” in the process.

Other speakers will include Craig Binetti, president of DuPont Nutrition & Health, who will discuss the effect of several mega-trends on the world’s food supply; and Mike DeSmet, vice president of Safety & Quality, West Liberty Foods, who will share some insights and best practices from his award-winning company.
