Food Industry Professionals Attend Award Reception Hosted by DuPont Qualicon
More than 400 people associated with the food industry gathered recently at the 7th annual Food Quality Award presentation and reception hosted by DuPont Qualicon. The event, which was held during the Food Safety & Security Summit in Washington, D.C., gave attendees an opportunity to honor West Liberty Foods as the winner of the 2007 Food Quality Award, to hear insights from business and food safety experts, and to network with other industry professionals.

DuPont Qualicon Releases New BAX® System Eight-Hour Listeria Test
DuPont Qualicon has released a new genetic-based test that allows food companies to detect Listeria on environmental surfaces in just eight hours. Health Canada validates new protocols for BAX® system detection of E. coli O157:H7
Health Canada, the federal agency that oversees food safety in Canada, has validated protocols for using the BAX® system from DuPont Qualicon to detect E. coli O157:H7 in fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, animal feed, environmental samples and dry products. This recent approval supplements prior validation of the BAX® system for detecting the pathogen in ground beef and beef trim.
