DuPont Named One of Safest U.S. Companies
DuPont was named to Occupational Hazards magazine's list of the safest U.S. companies.
DuPont and 15 other companies that made the list - including DaimlerChrysler, Motorola and Johnson & Johnson - are profiled in the magazine's September issue and honored for their "outstanding contributions to occupational safety and health."
Stephen Minter, editor of Occupational Hazards, said: "These organizations have demonstrated a commitment to employee safety and health that goes way beyond compliance with minimum government standards. Their management has developed a culture where safety and health are important values that help shape how work is planned and carried out. As a result, these companies have benefited in both human terms and financially through reduced accident costs and improved productivity."
This year's list of "America's Safest Companies" was chosen based on recommendations by industry professionals, recognition by industry associations, participation in safety programs, state and local awards and the magazine's research.
Commitment to safety, health and the environment is a DuPont core value.
