DuPont Seminars a Success "Down Under"
What started as an experiment - mini-seminars offering DuPont knowledge in credit management - has now become a promising business for DuPont Australia.
The first seminar, entitled "Maximizing the Profitability of Your Credit Operations," was held recently in Melbourne and Sydney and drew 45 participants from Australia's largest companies. The sessions were organized by DuPont Safety Resources employee Jenny Nicholson and presented by Philip Azize, DuPont national credit manager.
Seminars scheduled for November include, "Understanding and Managing Business Risk" and will be presented by Chris Johnson, manager, DuPont Consulting Solutions. Future topics for 2004 seminars include business ethics, regulatory compliance, product stewardship and supply chain management. A workshop will also be held on business growth.
"The reason it's been so successful is that attendees see DuPont as sharing what has been proven to work over many years and in varying economic circumstances," said Hutch Ranck, managing director of DuPont Australia and New Zealand. "We are fortunate, too, in that we are able to utilize and leverage the full capacity of the DuPont Safety Resources business."
Getting paid for what we know in addition to what we make is part of the DuPont knowledge intensity strategy for achieving sustainable growth.
