DuPont Safety Resources Honors Indonesian Companies

DuPont Safety Resources - Indonesia recently hosted the "Most Caring Companies 2005 Safety Award" ceremony in Jakarta. The award recognized companies in Indonesia that have succeeded in implementing good safety practices in their workplaces. This year’s honorees were: PT Total E&P Indonesia; PT Nestle Indonesia; PT Amoco Mitsui PTA Indonesia; and PT Wijaya Karya. Hutch Ranck, group managing director, DuPont ASEAN, presented the awards to the winners.

The award attracted submissions from 125 companies, two times the number of entries received in 2004. Submissions were evaluated on four criteria: safety in leadership and line management; quality improvement of work safety; work safety processes and procedures; and compliance with government regulations.

Frank Moniaga, president director, DuPont Indonesia, and chairman of the selection committee, said: "The award goes beyond just recognition. Workplace safety, when incorporated as a strategic business value, plays an important role in achieving excellence in business performance. Through the years, DuPont has seen the significant impact that safety has made in enhancing the company’s bottom line."

Roger Moore, president, DuPont Safety Resources - Asia Pacific, delivered congratulatory remarks to all nominees. In an interactive safety role-play, Roger reinforced DuPont’s long-lasting safety culture and encouraged Indonesian companies to grow into world-class safety organizations by approaching safety as an operational discipline comprised of leadership support, organizational and operational efforts.
