Every three years, the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work gathers some 3,000 safety and health professionals from around the world to address global trends and issues. This year, with the support of its premier sponsors including DuPont, the International Labor Office (ILO), the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) are bringing the XVIII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work to the COEX Convention Center in Seoul, Korea, on June 29 – July 2, 2008.
The World Congress is the world's largest international event in occupational safety and health. It is aimed at contributing to the prevention of occupational accidents and the protection of workers' health through the exchange of information, knowledge and experiences on new technologies related to safety at work, on preventing occupational diseases, and on safety and health cooperative projects. The theme for this year’s event is “Safety and Health at Work: A Societal Responsibility”.
We invite you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to exchange views with colleagues, attend symposia, technical sessions and special events, and view the latest multimedia presentations on safety and health—including the DuPont symposium on “Sharing Best Practices for a Safer and Healthier World”.
Throughout the four days of the XVIII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, the International Safety and Health Exhibition will showcase the newest technologies and products. In addition, DuPont has been invited to speak at one of the Technical Sessions on the topic of “Successful Safety & Health Management System in Enterprises”.
Prior to the Congress on June 29, the Safety and Health Summit will take place. DuPont will join this exclusive gathering of leaders from around the world, with a view to placing occupational safety and health high on the world safety agenda.
Another Congress highlight will be the release of a special report by charter signers of the World Safety Declaration, the industry initiative introduced by DuPont at the last World Congress to promote global workplace safety (www.worldsafetydeclaration.com).
