This is the reason why we have global and local community programs and initiatives across this country, all of them propelled by the voluntary participation of our employees.
It has to be highlighted that every non-profit organization that we endorse also pursues our core values – social development, economic success, and environmental excellence. They also must have specific and measurable goals and objectives. This is the reason why DuPont was listed among the 100 Socially Responsible Companies list, prepared by the Mundo Ejecutivo magazine.
A success story is the Apprentices Program, giving low income youngsters the opportunity to integrate for a specific period to DuPont’s working environment. This exercise motivates them to acquire knowledge and skills for the future.
The participants use this opportunity to learn and grow together with our employees, while being involved in specific activities. They are guided by a tutor, supported in turn by a “sponsor” (or guide), and helped by all other employees, who permeate the company values to them – Safety, Ethics, Environmental Care and Respect for all People. The kids learn the meaning of team efforts and work, and get a wider vision of how businesses are conducted in a worldwide organization.
