Soy is a sustainable polymer. The world needs more functional industrial ingredients that use fewer natural resources. DuPont Soy Polymers are an environmentally sustainable, economically efficient and functional alternative to synthetic or animal products, designed to meet growing global demands.

Renewably Sourced
DuPont Soy Polymers are sourced from renewable soybeans, which are plant-based. Agricultural feed stocks are used as the raw material. Crops do not bring new carbon into the eco-cycle and can be grown all over the world.

As our products are renewably sourced from vegetable origin, our products are biodegradable (vs. industry standard for ready, ultimate biodegradability, ASTM E1720) as well as compostable (ASTM D6400).

Smaller Carbon Footprint
Cradle to gate life cycle analysis (LCA) from an external panel validates that DuPont Soy Polymers have a smaller carbon footprint than latex, equivalent to more than one third the amount in grams of carbon equivalents – and 52% less fossil fuel depletion  in MJ, per ISO 14040. 

Product Stewardship
We have an active product stewardship process, protecting our customers and employees.

DuPont Soy Polymers products are natural based products. We continue however to strive to reduce the environmental footprint of our products, throughout the value chain. As such, we create value through continuous improvements to the renewability and sustainability of our offerings to the customer base.

Life Cycle Analysis

We report “cradle-to-gate” LCA data which encompasses the environmental impacts of our products from the beginning of the sourcing process through the end of our manufacturing processes - per ASTM Method D 6852Product Life Cycle
