DuPont Nonwovens Announces Price Increases for DuPont™ Sontara® and Tyvek® Products
DuPont Nonwovens has announced that it will raise prices of nonwoven fabrics to offset the increasing raw material, energy and transportation costs incurred to produce and supply the products. The increases affect DuPont™ Sontara ® and Tyvek® products.
Prices for Sontara® spunlace products for the medical fabrics and diversified wipes markets have increased about 8 percent on average, effective June 1. Tyvek® products across multiple markets and applications have increased by as much as 15 percent, including a 5-percent energy surcharge on orders for delivery on or after July 1.
Barry M. Granger, vice president and general manager – DuPont Nonwovens, said that DuPont has been working on multiple fronts to manage and mitigate the effects of rising energy and raw material costs to minimize the need for price increases.
“Unprecedented market conditions are forcing us to implement a global price increase for DuPont™ Sontara® and Tyvek® products,” Granger said. “We are continuing to do everything we can to keep costs under control during these extremely challenging times. We place high value on our customers and meeting their needs, and part of that equation is providing superior products at affordable prices.”
