8 August 2012 - DuPont™ Corian® offers groundbreaking flexibility to compliment the entire interior and exterior design of a project – from start to finish.
DuPont™ Corian® unveiled its new colours for 2012 – a range that was developed in collaboration with experts from around the world, to provide designers with limitless opportunities when sourcing materials and products for their projects. The launch took place on 8 August 2012 at Decorex, the leading décor exhibition in South Africa’s interior design landscape.
The new solid surface colours simulate movement when viewed from different angles and enables designers to create unique, inspired and trend-setting spaces. The range includes Designer White – a new white that is one of the truest, whitest whites available in solid surface, globally – while the rest of the range completes the colour pallet, allowing even more flexibility and imagination.
The different hues of whites, greys and blacks, yellows, oranges and reds, browns and purples, blues and greens can all be combined with an endless list of materials such as metal, wood, glass, stone, ceramic or textile. It has been developed for a wide variety of architectural and design projects – residential and commercial, interior and exterior.
“It’s simple,” says Michael Peter, Country Manager for DuPont Building Innovations: South Africa. “DuPont™ Corian® tones bring a new dimension to design freedom, flexibility and spontaneity to both professionals and non-professionals, well into the 21st century.”
He continues by saying that “the product marks a significant step forward for the capabilities to meet the technical, functional and sensorial demands that the industry of architecture, interior design and furnishing is expressing.”
Also at the show, DuPont launched its Corian® Exterior Cladding systems, which combines elegant aesthetics with high performance. It can be shaped into virtually any conceivable design and is the only solid surface material that is specifically designed for exterior purposes.
The product provides a weather resistant protection system, which is able to withstand the harsh African climate, while remaining aesthetically pure and clean. It is also seamless, light-weight, easy to maintain and available in versatile colours, which makes it an ideal choice for panelised façades.
