Black Heritage event celebrates contributions of African-Americans

About 100 employees and their guests enjoyed an evening filled with music, fellowship and history during the Spruance Black Employees' Network 10th Annual Black Heritage Celebration.  The theme for the event, held at the Sheraton Park South hotel, was "Pause, Reflect, Move Forward".  King Salim Khalfani, executive director of the Virginia State Conference NAACP, was the guest speaker.  As part of the evening's festivities, Sitrena Woodson, who led the site's 2006 United Way campaign, was awarded the Beacon Award for her outstanding contributions to the site and the community.
