DuPont Employee Network Awards Scholarship

The DuPont Spruance Plant’s Black Employees Network (SBEN) recently announced its 2013 scholarship winner, Jesse Yu.  Jesse was awarded a $1,000 scholarship, and he plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University this fall, majoring in Computer Science.  He is interested in the field of cyber security.
Jesse is the son of Irene Zhong, who works in the manufacturing site’s Information Technology group. He is an honors student at Atlee High School, where he participates on the Chess, Ping Pong and Badminton Clubs.  He volunteers at St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as for the First Lego League.
Now in its fifth year, the DuPont SBEN Scholarship Program has continued to help students with their continuing education. Scholarship applicants must be relatives of DuPont Spruance employees who are SBEN members. “The SBEN scholarship program provides an excellent opportunity to support our employees and their family members who have excelled in the classroom.  I’m extremely proud to have such strong employee support at our site, through networks such as SBEN,” said Plant Manager Joe Internicola.
