To assure effective internal controls, DuPont has specific and different authorities for various roles and responsibilities in the Procurement Process.
Execution Authority is the authority to purchase materials and services. This authority is granted to personnel in buying roles and on buying teams. With Execution Authority, a person can establish an agreement that commits Company funds to be paid to a supplier. Only personnel with Execution Authority can ‘buy’ in DuPont.
NOTE: Approval Authority allows a person to authorize the spending of money out of a specific budget and is required prior to approve all requests for the procurement of any good or services.
