What is Granite?
Granite is a natural substance mined all over the world. It is a coarse grained crystalline igneous rock composed primarily of quartz and feldspar. With Granite being a natural product, each kitchen will have a unique look with possible pattern or color variation throughout the slab.

DuPont™ maintains close quality control over granite slab selection for each color offered. However, color and pattern may vary slightly within the same slab, as is typical for all granite stones.

• Covered by a 10-Year Limited Installed Warranty and a 1-year stain warranty-with Granite being a natural product, most companies do not offer a warranty. However, DuPont is confident in the installation and selection of the material and offers a warranty that covers fabrication, installation and some product defects.

What is the difference between Granite certified by DuPont and other Granites?

DuPont Granite is backed by a 10-year Limited Installed Warranty, as well as a one-year stain warranty. Installed by Certified Installers, Granite certified by DuPont has a proprietary penetrating sealant.

What are the colors and thicknesses available?

What care and maintenance does Granite Certified by DuPont require?
Natural Stone can be very porous. The best way to help prevent stains on your granite is to treat its Surface with DuPont Natural Stone Sealer. This sealer fills in the natural pores and help repel spills on the surface. It is recommended that your countertop be sealed once a year with DuPont Natural Stone Sealer.

Once your stone is sealed, clean up is easier. We recommend that you use DuPont™ Natural Stone Revitalizer. Our Revitalizer™ cleans with a gentle, Remove-pH-neutral formula that removes soils while reinforcing the original protective seal to help prevent future staining.

What are the DO's and DON'Ts of Granite?

• DO use DuPont™ Granite & Marble Sealer to protect your stone.
• DO clean up spills immediately to minimize damage to your stone.
• DO use trivets or mats under hot dishes and cookware.
• DO use place mats under china, ceramics, silver and other objects that can scratch your stone's surface.
• DO use coasters under glasses, especially if they contain alcohol or citrus juices.
• DO clean surfaces regularly with DuPont™ Granite & Marble Kitchen Countertop Cleaner.
• DO call our DuPont Care Center for assistance.
• DON'T wait to clean up spills on stone.
• DON'T use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners or tub cleaners.
• DON'T use vinegar, bleach, ammonia or other general-purpose cleaners.
• DON'T use abrasive cleaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleansers.
• DON'T use alkaline cleaners not specifically formulated for stone.

What is the difference between Corian® and Zodiaq® and Granite Certified by DuPont?
Unlike laminates and solid-surface materials, a hot frying pan has little if no effect on granite's mirror-like finish. The hardness of granite makes it almost impervious to abrasions, stains, and extreme heat. However, if easy maintenance and pattern consistency are most important to you, consider Corian®  and Zodiaq® as alternative products for your kitchen.

Are there samples available for Granite, Certified by DuPont?

Paper samples are available for initial coordinating with cabinet choices but the sample may vary from your actual countertop. The paper samples can be picked up from your local Lowe's Home Improvement store.

Is there a Warranty for Granite, Certified by DuPont?

Can I purchase Granite, Certified by DuPont for the bathroom or other rooms in my home?

Granite, Certified by DuPont is available for most any inside horizontal application including kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, furniture tops, bar tops, thresholds, windowsills, etc.  Total minimum purchase quantity is 25 sq. ft.
