What: Walls and surfaces areas in busy, high-traffic spaces such as OR rooms, patient room vanities, nurses stations and food service facilities.
Issues: Walls were continuously being damaged by equipment in high traffic patient areas. Constant repair and painting was needed from the damage created by gurneys, carts, and wheelchairs.
Challenges: Finding cost-effective surfacing materials durable enough to withstand the inevitable high-traffic abuse; materials that are nonporous and easily cleaned; materials that are easily repairable and lower maintenance costs.
Solutions: By using DuPont™ Corian® solid surfaces, Scottish Rite Hospital has significantly improved the appearance of the hospital while reducing the yearly cleaning and maintenance costs as well. Corian® solid surface is tough, long lasting and can be renewed if needed.
