Application Description

Composite canisters for packaging new Oreo Crunchies™ are lined with 19µm (11.5 lb/ream) of Surlyn® extrusion coated on aluminum foil. The closure is a heat-sealed membrane lid with a peelable seal layer of Surlyn® on foil laminated to PET film.

Materials Selected and Why

For the canister liner and lid seal layer, Surlyn® 1605 SBR provides grease and abrasion resistance plus heat-seal reliability and peelability.
