External Recognition

As our journey to sustainable growth continues, our progress in delivering safer and environmentally improved solutions has been recognized by a number of external groups. We appreciate this recognition, though we know we have more work to do. What matters most is what happens in the marketplace and the world as a result of our actions, and our commitment is to make further progress in the years ahead.

• DuPont was named to the S&P 500 Carbon Intensive Industry Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index, an index that provides a valuable perspective on the range and quality of responses to CDP’s questionnaire.
• DuPont was named index component of the  North American Dow Jones Sustainability Index
• DuPont was named to the KLD Global Climate 100 Index, a specialty index that promotes investment in 100 public companies that demonstrate the greatest potential for mitigating immediate and long-term causes of climate change.
• DuPont received five awards from the American Chemistry Council for its U.S. site energy conservation efforts.
• The DuPont Altamira site in Mexico received a “Quality Award” from its national government for its actions in taking care of the environment.  The site was awarded in the technical innovation and human capital categories.
• The Singapore Chemical Industry Council awarded DuPont Singapore with “Responsible Care Awards” in the following areas: employee health & safety, process safety, community awareness, emergency response and distribution.
• The Shenzhen Occupational Health Inspection Institute in China awarded the DuPont Shenzhen site with the "Model Enterprises for the Normative Management on Occupational Health Award”.
• Military protection supplier BAE Systems presented an Outstanding Supplier Award to the Life Protection team of DuPont Advanced Fiber Systems (AFS) at the AFS Global Leadership Conference in Glen Allen, Va.
• The DuPont James River site in Richmond, Va., recently was recognized during a session of the Virginia House of Delegates for its 60 years of safe operations and contributions to the economic health of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• The Shenzhen Occupational Health Inspection Institute in China awarded the DuPont Shenzhen site with the "Model Enterprises for the Normative Management on Occupational Health Award”.

• The DuPont Front Royal and Spruance sites in Virginia recently received Governor’s Environmental Excellence Awards for outstanding environmental stewardship. GEEA is part of the Virginia Environmental Excellence Program.
• DuPont Singapore Sakra site recently received the Board of Directors Safety Award for the 10th time as well as receiving its fifth year of recordable injury-free days.
• Employees of the DuPont Florida Mine recently were awarded the “Sentinels of Safety” designation for outstanding workplace safety performance by the Mine Safety and Health Administration and the National Mining Association.
• The American Chemical Society presented the research teams involved in the development of Bio-PDO™ with the prestigious Heroes of Chemistry award.
• The April 2 edition of Fortune Magazine profiles DuPont in a special section titled "Green is Good."  The magazine views "the greening of corporate America" as "what could be the business story of the 21st century."
• DuPont ranked 31st on Fortune magazine’s "World's Most Admired Companies". 
• DuPont was named part of the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index for its Carbon Disclosure Project.   
• Innovest rated DuPont AAA with an overall score of 95 based on its Carbon Beta Rating system.

• DuPont ranked first in the Chemicals category on Fortune magazine’s global and America's most admired lists. 
• DuPont receives Fortune magazine’s “Blue Ribbon company” status.
• DuPont has been recognized with the Green Contractor Award by the Coalition for Government Procurement for its overall commitment to the environment.
• The U.S. Department of Defense announced that DuPont is among a select group of companies chosen to receive a 2006 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.  
• Working Mother Magazine named DuPont to its list of the Working Mother 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers. This is the 16th time that DuPont has been named to the list.
• DuPont Mexico was named a “Best Place to Work”, in a survey published by the Mexican business magazine EXPANSION and The Great Place To Work Institute®.
• The Wilmington (Delaware) News Journal’s ‘Best in the Business’ annual ranking named DuPont ‘Best Place to Work’ and ‘Best Community Involvement’ for the chemicals and materials industry.
• The State of Delaware General Assembly passed a resolution recognizing DuPont for being named the “Top Green Company” by Business Week.
• DuPont received the Global Label Industry Award for Continuous Innovation during the LabelExpo Americas 2006 in Chicago.
• DuPont received a perfect score on the Equality Index for 2006.
