DuPont™ Tyvek® HomeWrap®: Used in residential construction under all cladding types, Tyvek® protects homes by helping to stop the wind and rain from getting in and forming a protective skin around the house. Since it also breathes, Tyvek® HomeWrap® helps keep insulation dry so it will perform more efficiently.
When used with DuPont™ Tyvek® Weatherization Systems such as Tyvek® HomeWrap®, DuPont™ Tyvek® AtticWrap™ completely seals the building envelope. In addition, when used in an air barrier system, DuPont™ Tyvek® AtticWrap™ creates a continuous airtight building envelope up to the attic space, allowing homeowners to expect up to a 20 percent reduction in heating and cooling costs.
DuPont™ Tyvek® ThermaWrap™ adds R-2 insulation value to the wall - providing up to 15 percent reduction in the heat flow through walls and significantly helping to reduce energy costs. As a low emissivity (low-e) surface, DuPont™ Tyvek® ThermaWrap™ helps increase the installed thermal resistance, or R-value, of the insulation and works year round to increase energy efficiency, reducing the amount of heat loss during the winter and reflecting radiant heat out in summer.
