Advanced Biofuels

Biobutanol, Ethanol from cellulose, Pioneer IndustrySelect®: Energy security, environmental constraints, and a need for viable innovations offer unique obstacles and exciting opportunities for the transportation industry.  The industry requires alternatives to petroleum fuels that are renewable, locally sourced, cost effective, and viable across all geographies with minimal environmental impact.  DuPont Biofuels  will provide advantaged products for agricultural energy crops, feedstock processing and advanced biofuels.

DuPont is a leader in the biofuels industry in several categories.  DuPont, with its partner BP , is developing advanced biofuels to overcome the limitations of existing biofuels.  Biobutanol will be the first product brought to market under this partnership.  DuPont is also developing a cost-effective technology package that can convert energy crops such as grasses, and agricultural byproducts such as straw and corn stalks, into biofuels and biochemicals.  Through its subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., DuPont is driving product development focused on increasing yields for today's farmers and biofuels producers.
