DuPont™ Teflon® AF License Agreement

Sales of Teflon® AF Are Restricted
Teflon® AF fluoropolymer resins are products of E.I. duPont de Nemours and Company and are patent-protected. Please refer to our list of current patents.

Depending upon the purchaser's application, a license may be necessary to purchase and use Teflon® AF. The purchase of Teflon® AF grants the purchaser no rights or licenses under cited patents. The purchase price of Teflon® AF does not include any royalty under the cited patents.

Availability of Licenses
Parties interested in such licensing should consult the list of patents and complete the application form that follows. DuPont is willing to grant a royalty free research license to those parties for the purposes of investigating whether Teflon® AF will functionally work in their application.

If purchase is permitted under the restricted sales policy, by accepting delivery of this product, purchaser agrees not to use Teflon® AF as claimed in any of the cited patents without authority from DuPont.

I have read, understand and ACCEPT the above regarding the restricted sales notice and availability of licenses. I AGREE to the terms and conditions required to request a ROYALTY FREE RESEARCH LICENSE binding me and my institution/company to permit practice under one or more of the DuPont U.S. patents and/or their foreign equivalents. I further understand that I must request a separate written license to permit COMMERCIAL practice under one or more of the above-cited DuPont patents and the payment of royalties.

Provide a description of the shape of Teflon® AF in your application sufficiently detailed to permit our patent group to determine whether your application is within or outside our patent claims. Please indicate what type of substrate the Teflon® AF will be coated on [e.g., inorganic (metal, metal oxide, nonmetal oxide, etc.) and/or organic (polymer, etc.)]. Please indicate what the utility of the coated substrate [e.g., optical component (e.g., lens), electronic component (e.g. circuit board), etc.] will be.*

DuPont has an established policy regarding medical applications of DuPont materials.

Please confirm that your application utilizing DuPont™ Teflon® AF would NOT involve any of the following:
(a) contacting it with the human body
(b) exposing it to bodily fluids
(c) exposing it to other fluids which will be incorporated into the human body
(d) implanting it into a living body

I agree that the intended use of the Teflon® AF amorphous fluoropolymer resin for which I am requesting a RESEARCH ROYALTY FREE LICENSE is NOT for an application involving temporary or permanent implantation in the human body or contact with bodily fluids, as defined by the categories (a-d) shown above.*
