AGGLOMERATED
Zonyl® MP1000
General-purpose powder used as a lubricant additive to improve surface wear and friction.
Average agglomerate size is 8 to 15 µm. Has high specific surface area and broad agglomerate size distribution. Contains a large population of loose, 150-µm agglomerates made of 0.2 µm particles. The agglomerates are friable and can be disrupted during mixing to provide a more intimate blend of the smaller particles. Final agglomerate size and distribution depend on mixing method. Zonyl® MP1000 also meets food approval requirements in EEC countries.
Zonyl® MP1100
Small-particle powder especially suitable for improving the performance of coatings, lubricants, and inks.
Average agglomerate size is 1.8 to 4 µm. Has high specific surface area and narrow particle size distribution. Contains much smaller agglomerates than Zonyl® MP1000 and is more easily dispersible into its submicron particles during mixing. Final agglomerate size and distribution depend on mixing method.
Zonyl® MP1500
Relatively large agglomerate powder especially suited for use with elastomers to improve surface lubricity and tear strength without loss of elastic behavior.
Average agglomerate size is 20 µm. Has high specific surface area and very broad particle size distribution. Response to shear is unique among the Zonyl® fluoroadditives. Zonyl® MP1500 is most effective when subjected to high shear conditions. Has also been found to improve tensile properties of elastomers.
Zonyl® MP1600
Zonyl® MP1600 is directly polymerized to a low molecular weight. It is a very loosely agglomerated friable powder with a high specific surface area (8 to 12 mm/g) and an average agglomerate size of 4 to 12 µm. It is particularly useful in composite coating and coil coating applications. It conforms to a broad range of FDA regulations including 21 CFR 177.1550 and is very efficient as a thickener for greases. It also meets food approval requirements in EEC countries.
NON-AGGLOMERATED
Zonyl® MP1200
Non-agglomerated small-particle powder used to improve the performance of printing inks and other coatings.
Average particle size is 2.5 to 4.5 µm. Has low specific surface area and very narrow particle size distribution. Very easily dispersible. Final particle size and distribution do not depend on mixing method.
Zonyl® MP1300
Non-agglomerated powder used as a lubricant additive to improve surface wear and friction.
Average particle size is 8 to 15 µm. Has low specific surface area. Easily dispersible in thermoplastics, inks, and coatings. Final particle size and distribution so not depend on mixing method. It also meets food approval requirements in EEC countries.
Zonyl® MP1400
Non-agglomerated powder used as a lubricant additive to improve surface wear and friction, conforming to a broad range of FDA regulations, including 21 CFR 177.1550.
Average particle size is 7 to 12 µm. Has low specific surface area. Easily dispersible in thermoplastics, inks, and coatings. May be used as a component of articles for repeated use in contact with food. It also meets food approval requirements in EEC countries.
