Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Blown Film, and Cast Film in a Durable Application

In exterior end-use applications that require extended outdoor service life, a durable pigment resistant to the weathering effects of UV light is strongly suggested. To meet such exposure requirements, Ti-Pure® R-105 and R-960 are the preferred grades.

It should be noted that while Ti-Pure® R-960's surface treatment provides maximum pigment durability, it could limit the capability to mold or extrude at temperatures greater than 500°F (or 260°C).

Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Blown Film, and Cast Film Applications

Many of DuPont's titanium dioxide products are suitable for use in these applications and will process well due to the relatively low processing temperatures typically required. We generally suggest the use of Ti-Pure® R-350 for these applications. Some key characteristics:

Ti-Pure® R-350
  • Brighter, cleaner whites
  • Unmatched high temperature performance (resistance to lacing)
  • Excellent throughput rates
  • Superior dispersion
  • Unique combination of yellowing resistance and durability
The following products are also commonly used:
  • Ti-Pure® R-101 - neutral undertone
  • Ti-Pure® R-104 – blue undertone
