The energy efficiency of a building can be greatly improved by making the internal surface of roofs, walls and floors air and vapour tight. This is particularly relevant when considering the air permeability requirements of todays building regulations and standards. But how can we do it?
The solution is to incorporate a continuous sheet material within the internal lining with attention paid to perimeters, joints and penetrations. What will be achieved is an effective barrier to convective heat losses as well as providing an efficient vapour controlling element.
