I just heard that DuPont has set up a new recycling program for DuPont™ Tyvek® with Northstar Recycling. How does this program differ from the one that has been in place with Waste Management for the past few years?
We are pleased to be able to offer our customers two great recycling programs that “close the loop” with tracking and reporting capabilities. Each program offers environmentally concerned retailers and other large users of DuPont™ Tyvek® with a great way to recycle banners, signs, displays and other items of DuPont™ Tyvek® print media so they can be repurposed for other applications such as composite and landscaping materials.
There are some key differences between the Northstar Recycling Program and the Waste Management Recycling Program. Simply stated, the Northstar Recycling Program, which began in late 2010, is a customizable solution that is ideal for companies with high-volume needs who want a more comprehensive recycling option.
Specifically, Northstar Recycling can conduct a waste stream audit and provide a comprehensive recommendation that may include a reverse distribution based model. Training your employees to collect and sort valuable recyclable goods—including DuPont™ Tyvek®; all grades of paper, plastics and films; metals; polyurethane foam; and E-scrap—and then providing free pickup of these items is another unique feature of this program.
Northstar Recycling will provide data tracking and reporting; however, Waste Management does offer a more sophisticated online tracking and report generation feature.
Members of the LifeCycle Based Solutions Authorized Printer Network can help you determine which recycling program may be best for you.
